Your ‘At Home’ questions answered

We’ve tried our very best to provide all the info you may need to get set for our two annual ‘At Home’ challenges. If we’ve missed anything, please do drop us a line at hello@superheroseries.co.uk.

Who can enter the ‘At Home’ mission?
Everyone is welcome. All we ask is that as each solo participant or at least one team member considers themselves to have a disability of any kind.

What is the mission distance?
You are free to set your own super target based on your personal circumstances. As long as you give it your all, you’ll be Superheroes in our eyes! Once you sign up, we’ll divide you all into SUPER TEAMs & you will be uniting remotely with hundreds of other Superheroes & Sidekicks from far & wide to complete your epic mission! We hope you’ll keep an eye on your team’s progress on our Super Leaderboard & Super World Map – & it might just motivate you to power further than you planned!

You are welcome to set Super Sensory goals for your At Home challenge if you wish. Simply convert each sensory triumph into one km to add to your SUPER TEAM’s total. Boom.

How long do we have to complete our mission?
For our summer ‘At Home’ missions you have four weeks in which to complete your mission; for our winter ‘At Home’ missions you have two weeks. You can decide to achieve your goal on one day, over a few, or keep adding to your super distance every day, from the first event day to the last! It’s all very flexible.

How can we complete the mission?
This is entirely up to you. You can choose to use one or many different modes (running/swimming/pushing/cycling, etc.) to complete your challenge. If you’re in a team, you might decide to do the challenge together using the same mode/s of transport, or in a relay doing all different things at different times. It really is super flexible!

Where can we complete the mission?
Anywhere you wish! You could head to your local park or leisure centre or even use your commute to school or work! The choice is yours.

What do I get with my booking?
Each participant will receive a Super Race Pack in the post with their entry that will include a race number, medal, T-shirt, finish line tape & other super goodies from our Super Partners. Please note, Super Race Packs will be sent to the main booker’s address in your registration.

How many members can I have on my team?
You can add as many as you like for just £20 each & they too will receive a Super Race Pack! Our team tickets go up to five members. If you’d like to add more members, simply buy a solo ticket for any additional teammates when you register, or at a later date, & fill in your ‘Superhero team name’ on the solo ticket when prompted so we know you’re taking part in the challenge together!

My team is spread across different areas/countries. Who will receive the Super Race Pack?

All solo & team Super Race Packs will be sent to the main booker’s address. If you are in a team & would like one or more of your Super Race Packs to be sent directly to a teammate who, for example, lives far away or in another country, then please register them separately from the rest of the team as a ‘solo participant’ – just be sure to add your ‘Superhero team name’ when prompted so we know you’re all doing it together – & we shall send the pack to whatever booker address is provided. Please note, international postage & packaging will apply to packs going abroad.

Will I receive all the team Super Race Packs at the same time?
Due to their size, each Super Race Pack is sent as an individual package even if they are going to the same address. Therefore, depending on delivery, you may not receive them all on one day. Hopefully they should arrive within a couple of days of each other but if you don’t receive all expected Super Race Packs within 72 hours of the first package, do get in touch.

Can a Sidekick (buddy) assist me during the mission?

Absolutely. Family & friends are welcome to guide, push or simply accompany you for your chosen mission. Just remember, only those who book a place will receive a Super Race Pack.

What should I wear?
Anything you like, but Superhero costumes are positively encouraged! Please do personalise & make sure your race numbers are nice & visible for any challenge pics & clips you’re happy to share. 😊

Equipment & safety
Our ethos is ‘anything goes’ & you can use any gadgets & gismos you might need to complete your challenge. We just have a couple of recommendations to help keep you safe, especially if you’re venturing into your neighbourhood to complete your challenge:

– If you are using some kind of vehicle – adaptive bike, wheelchair, etc. – please ensure it’s in a safe (roadworthy if applicable) condition, with brakes, etc., in good working order.

– People travelling on wheels at high speed should wear a helmet. We recommend that everyone on wheels wears a helmet for their safety but we know that this isn’t always practical.
