Your story: “In 2009 I started training for my first-ever triathlon. I started developing hip pain that got progressively worse and after several consultations was given the devastating news that I did not have fully formed hip joints and would need many operations, some very major, if I wanted to be able to walk long term. Seven years, 13 operations, many complications and a diagnosis of a mitochondrial disorder requiring life-long treatment (oh and a beautiful 14-month-old son) and I'm ready to finally complete the triathlon I was aiming to in 2009. I can't run because of my hips but I can’t wait to do the swim and my husband and I are planning to do the Full Superhero team event, with a baby swap over between the bike and the run!”
What it feels like to win a Celebrity Team place: “Awesome! It's going to be so much fun.”
The team you’d most like to beat: “Kadeena Cox's. How awesome to beat one of the only Paralympians to medal in two sports in one Games? I’d possibly do some serious boasting if that happened!
Most looking forward to: “Open water swimming and having my baby boy and family there to see me take part.”
Your Kryptonite: “Trying to swim straight!”
Your Superpower: “I always get up when I get knocked down!”

Bike: Nicole Martin, 20

Your story: “I have two conditions - neurofibromatosis type 1, which amongst other things has caused tumours to grow on my sciatic nerve & a leg length difference and Ehlers danlos syndrome type 3, which causes super hyper mobile joints, weakness and my stomach doesn’t work properly. No one really understood my disability and throughout my life, I was never encouraged to participate in sports. None of this has stopped me from doing the sports I love. I’ve tried almost every sport under the sun. Sport has helped me through some very tough times in my life. My highlight so far was doing a sky dive two months after major surgery.”
How you feel to win a Celebrity Team place: “Ecstatic!”
Your gadget of choice: “My wheelchair.”
Most looking forward to: “Being part of a team and meeting people who I admire.”
Your Kryptonite: “Pain and fatigue.”
Your Superpower: “My determination”
