Team Captain: Jenson
Representing: Black Panther
Earth years: 9
Jenson’s SUPER story:
I am a Duchenne Warrior & I can’t wait to lead my SUPER TEAM & show the universe how exhilarating & amazing the Superhero missions are – & that everyone needs to get involved!
I was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy on my first birthday & have mischievous muscles. Each day is a blessing & I live life to the full, with the biggest smile on my face. I always cheer up those around me & make everything fun. I am determined to help others be as busy as me!
My Sidekick Mum & Dad were told that I may not be able to walk, but I went on to prove this wrong &, to date, I have completed two super years of At Home missions, the live Winter Wonder Wheels 2021 & my first Superhero Tri this summer.
I love these events. They have given me & my family a huge boost & show just how much I can do. To share my latest mission with my SUPER TEAM is a double treat!
Jenson’s superpower: Always being determined, happy & helping others out. Together we are strong & can tackle the world!
A message from Team Captain Jenson:
“I am so super excited & honoured to have been chosen as a virtual Team Captain. The other teams will be amazed to see what we are made of & dazzled by our determination to succeed. Me & my sidekick pup, Benji, are looking forward to discovering who is in my team &hearing about the challenges we will complete on our virtual mission together. We will be a SUPER team of Superhero’s & together we can all achieve so much. Watch out World, we are here to make a difference!”
Team Captain: Olivia
Representing: Captain Marvel
Earth years: 6
Olivia’s SUPER story:
It’s AMAZING to be an Everyday Team Captain & share my mission to help inspire other Superheroes & their families to take part.
I love to get outdoors any way I can, whether it’s in my buggy with dad running or cycling, practicing in my walker, or holding my doggies’ leads in my wheelchair. I have cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, epilepsy & vision impairment, but I have defied my prognosis & continue to improve my strength & work hard on my mobility.
I never give up & will work super hard to lead my SUPER TEAM on a SUPER At Home mission!
Olivia’s superpower: Hard work & never giving up.
A message from Team Captain:
I’m super excited to be a team captain. Go smash it all team, you’re all amazing & you have got this 💪
Team Captain: Ezekiel (Zee)
Representing: Captain America
Earth years: 11
Zee’s Super story:
Zee is perfect Team Captain material. He absolutely loved Superhero Tri in the summer. When he saw his finish line photo on social media & in the Waitrose paper, he was super-excited. He signed that it would help more Superheroes learn about the event. He wants every Superhero to know how amazing they too could feel flying across the finish line!
Zee loves sharing with people & he knows how to throw a pose. Every time he saw a camera or drone at Superhero Tri, he flung out his arms Superhero style!
He finds his power by getting out & having the freedom to move in his own way. That might change daily, but he’s always super motivated & will be leading his SUPER TEAM by super example!
Zee’s superpower: He can talk without saying a word (he’s a signer) & he can eat in his sleep (tubie)! But most of all, he’s got the power of self-belief. He believed he could… & he did! He believes in his SUPER TEAM too!
A message from Team Captain Zee:
“My message to my super team is stay strong, keep going & if it’s chilly outside put on warm underwear! Team Captain America we’re winners! I believe in all of you! Let’s do this!!!”
