A regular highlight of Superhero Tri is our celebrity relay race, where Superheroes win the chance to unite with stars from sport & screen! Here we reveal the Team Captains taking on Celebrity Superhero Tri.

Fats Timbo

Comedian, creator, presenter and educator

POW! This all-round superstar & social media sensation, is making her debut at Superhero Tri! We cannot wait to see her in action, with her super-duper team!

Superpower: “Having a bulletproof mindset meaning I don’t let anyone or anything affect my confidence & determination to win in life.”

 

Thomas Young

Paralympic sprinting champion

We'll wager this speedy sprinter, is one to watch! In his Paralympic debut Thomas struck gold, so he'll be sure to go for gold in his Superhero debut!

Superpower: “Gold medal mentality.”

 

Sophie Christiansen

Eight-time Paralympic equestrian champion

This real-life Wonder Woman & equestrian legend always channels every ounce of energy into her Superhero missions & you can bet she’ll be powering her team to greatness!

Superpower: “Always giving 100% and striving to be the best I can be”

 

Briony May Williams

Food columnist & Great British Bake Off semi-finalist

Look who’s back! It’s the SUPER baker, presenter, food columnist & all-round SUPERstar, Briony Williams! She’s got just the right ingredients to rise to the challenge!

Superpower: “Baking awesome cakes of course!”

 

Liz Johnson

Paralympic swimming champion

This star swimmer is one of only a select few to have won gold medals in the Paralympics, World Championships & European Championships & is super lovely to boot! As always, she’ll be diving head first into this Celebrity Challenge & getting her teammates off to a super start!

Superpower: “My right hook, which my friends affectionately refer to as the snake, ha!”

 

Chris Jones

World Champs surfing medallist and Help for Heroes ambassador

The former soldier & die-hard adrenalin junkie is a multi-talented surfer, mountain biker, skier & kayaker! You won’t find a more committed Team Captain. POW!!

Superpower: “My ability to eat like my legs are hollowed out – a skill I acquired whilst serving in the British Army, then perfected as I surfed my way to the World Championships!”

 
 

Stephen Miller

Paralympic athlete

This incredible five-time Paralympic medallist is joining the fold once again this year & we can’t wait to see how Stephen channels his SUPER-sonic powers to complete his mission.

Superpower: ‘‘Positive thinking!!’’

 

Mark Lane

TV & radio presenter, garden designer & writer

Look who’s joining us!! The Superhero Mark Lane! This maybe his first Superhero mission, this BBC legend is certainly never one to shy away from a challenge! An asset to any team.

Superpower: “I'm great at face pareidolia, i.e, the illusion of seeing a facial structure in everyday objects.”

 

Frank Gardner

BBC security correspondent, journalist & author

An intrepid traveller & keen skier, the award-winning BBC journalist LOVES a challenge. He gave it his all last summer & now he’s back from more fun! This intrepid adventurer will also has some super stories to share with his teammates!

Superpower: “An inbuilt over-the-horizon radar that tells you when a parking warden is approaching, given that I can never actually park in a disabled parking spot!”

 

Jordan Jarrett-Bryan

TV reporter & presenter

One of our favourite faces on Channel 4, this roving reporter’s sporting past is also none too shabby! He played wheelchair basketball at national level & was two-time European champion with the GB Junior team, which he captained in 2004. Perfect credentials to lead his team.

Superpower: “The ability to teleport & be in multiple places in a blink.”

 

Josh Landmann

Para-athlete & para alpine skier

Despite being no stranger to adversity throughout his life, this SUPER talented para-athlete is an ace at both para-triathlon & para-alpine slalom. His teammates have bagged themselves & super determined & hard-working team cap.

Superpowers: ‘‘Just unpacking them!!’’

David Wiseman

Invictus Games medallist & former captain in the Army

The former infantryman who was shot in the chest in Afghanistan in 2009, is one of the architects of the Invictus Games and worked closely with Prince Harry to bring his sporting vision to life. David went on to compete in three Invictus Games winning a total of 14 medals in the pool and headed up the team in 2016 & has also climbed to the summit of the eighth highest mountain in the world: Manaslu, Nepal (8163m). Some serious Team Captain credentials!

Superpowers: “No one in the world is bullet proof, but I am technically bullet resistant. Therefore, my Superhero name is “Easy Target: Man of (cheap) Steel.’’


Adam Hills

Comedian & The Last Leg presenter

Wherever he & his fellow teammates come in the race we're sure this comedy king will put a huge smile on their faces.

Superpower: “To reverse park in small spaces.”

 

Eve Roberts

Para-athlete & football development officer

Making her debut at Superhero Tri is the SUPER Eve Roberts! As a former GB pathway player & member of the East London Phoenix Women’s wheelchair basketball team, there is no stopping Eve in her pursuit for team success!

Eve’s superpower: “The ability to fly, so I can fly around the world visiting as many beaches as possible.”
