Captain America


BIO: Recipient of the Super-Soldier serum, World War II hero Steve Rogers fights for American ideals as one of the world’s mightiest heroes and the leader of the Avengers.

Super Hero Character Traits: Courageous, determined, honest

Costume ideas:

  • Blue top and trousers

  • A Captain America shield using an old cardboard box and red, silver (foil) and blue paints or paper

  • A silver star for your chest – make from tin foil or shiny gift wrapping paper

  • Long red socks

  • Long red gloves



BIO: Bitten by a radioactive spider, Spider-Man’s arachnid abilities give him amazing powers he uses to help others. He struggles to balance everyday problems with the challenges of being a Super Hero, but has an incredible ability to overcome obstacles.

Super Hero Character Traits: Eager, young, brilliant, protective, humorous

Costume ideas:

  • Blue trousers/tights/leggings

  • Red top

  • On a piece of paper draw out a spider using a black felt-tip, colour in, cut out and stick this to the front of your top (safety pins or double-sided sticky tape)

  • Knee high red socks

  • To achieve the spider lines on the face, use black face paint



BIO: The son of Odin uses his mighty abilities as the God of Thunder to protect his home Asgard and planet Earth alike.

Super Hero Character Traits: Powerful, noble, jovial, protective

Costume Ideas

  • Black trousers and silver/grey top

  • Red cape - make the cape using an old large t-shirt that can be cut up, removing the sleeves and cutting up one side

  • Make Thor’s Hammer using a shoebox, covering it in silver kitchen foil. Then use a long cardboard tube roll from cling film or kitchen foil for example, to create the handle by attaching it to the shoe box

Black Widow

Formerly a super spy from Russia, she is extensively trained in martial arts, gymnastics, weaponry, and is a master hacker.

  • Black trousers and black top

  • Black knee high socks and black shoes

  • Make the S.H.I.E.L.D patch by drawing on a circular piece of paper/card and sticking it to your arm

  • A black belt

  • Fingerless black gloves

  • A chunky blue bracelet to create the Widow’s bite weapon

Captain Marvel

  • White t-shirt and purple shorts or trousers – cut the sleeves in a zig zag to create a ripped effect
